Excerpts from this review follow: ``All the main areas of probability and statistics that are expected in such a text-book are covered...The book is well presented, with colour used thoughtfully throughout...In summary, this book has been thoughtfully put together and has no glaring omissions or weaknesses...This book already has many competitors.. but I can see no reason why it should not be as succesful as the best of the otheres on the market."

Difficult

I am taking Statistics right now, of which Rosenkrantz is the department chair, so his book is being used. The book overall is difficult to understand, and very tedious in many places.

Overcomplicates even the most basic concepts

As a student of statistics, I found this book to be cumbersome, at best. Few examples are given, and a solid understanding of set theory and discrete mathematics is assumed. Not for a beginning or intermediate level learner
